Basil-Walnut Vinaigrette Healthy Recipes From The Healthy Healing Eats By Andrea Breaux

This Healthy Recipes of Basil-Walnut Vinaigrette is a great use for basil flowers to flavor salads and other veggies. This makes a delish accompaniment over steamed vegetables and potatoes.




Ingredients: 


  • 1 tsp, chopped garlic
  • ½ C. Basil flowers (or leaves)
  • 2 tsp. Dijon Mustard
  • ½ tsp. pink salt
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • ¼ C. Red Wine Vinegar
  • ¾ C. Olive Oil
  • ½ C. finely chopped walnut pieces

Instructions:

Finely chop the basil flowers and leaves with the garlic or mash with a mortar and pestle.
Blend in mustard.
Whisk together the remaining ingredients.

Allow the mixture to sit for at least 30 minutes for the flavors to blend.
